LTH Electronics are the UK distributors for Klay Instruments B.V., a Dutch manufacturer founded in 1978. Klay Instruments offer a range of compact and rugged pressure and level transmitters, as well as level switches and temperature sensors and transmitters.
Many certificates and approvals are available, for example: ATEX Ex, IECEx, SIL2, EHEDG and 3A food approvals, Marine Type approvals, for example: DNV, BV, Lloyds, GL and RINA.
All of the products come with stainless steel enclosures as standard with more than 50 process connection options available. Special level and pressure transmitters with Hastelloy C or Tantalum wetted parts offer a cost effective solution for applications where greater chemical resistance is required.
The recently launched 4000 series microprocessor based pressure and level transmitters offer a backlit graphical display with a Bar graph option and one touch programming button enabling the user to adjust the transmitter without the use of a test pressure. The 4000 series can display the process temperature and is ideal for level applications which require tank linearisation or volume measurement.
The 4000-SAN “Intelligent” High-end Pressure and Level transmitters come with strong flush mounted diaphragms and are designed for use in the Food, Dairy and Pharma industries, pulp & paper, (Petro)chemical and oil and gas industries. Process connections available include many hygienic connections with most of them EHEDG and 3-A certified. The 4000-SAN transmitters are CIP and SIP cleanable and are available in ranges from: 0-30 mBar up to 0-100 Bar.
Klay Instruments has also introduced a NEW ‘Intelligent’ Differential Pressure transmitter named the DP-4000. This has a compact and rugged Stainless Steel housing. Ranges are available from 10 mBar to 20 Bar with a turn down up to 100:1. The calibration / programming can be performed without the need for test pressure by using the Unique ‘One Touch programming button’ together with the graphical backlit display. The multilingual graphic display can indicate a number of chosen engineering units including the process temperature and the actual value in a Bar graph. For flow measurement a square root function is available and for Level measurement a tank linearization can be programmed very easy. Various remote ‘chemical’ seals are available. The diaphragm material is standard SS316L, as an option Hastelloy C or Tantalum can be supplied. The output is 4-20 mA including HART protocol (HART 5 and 7, selectable). For use in hazardous environments the DP-4000 is certified according to both ATEX II1G (Ex ia IIC T6) and IECEx.
The 2000 series “Intelligent” Pressure transmitters have a small and strong flush mounted diaphragm for pressure applications on sticky fluids where a flush diaphragm is necessary.
Various process connections are available: G½”, G1″ and special pulp & paper connections (PMC, PASVE, etc). Available ranges are from: 0-0.1 Bar up to 0-100 Bar.
The 2000-SAN “Intelligent” Pressure and Level transmitters have strong flush mounted diaphragms for all kind of fluids, pastes and sludges. They are specially designed for use in the Food, Dairy, Pharma, pulp and paper and (Petro)chemical industry. There is a selection of process connections available including many hygienic process connections which are EHEDG and 3-A certified.
The 2000-SAN transmitters are CIP and SIP cleanable.
The CER-2000 “Peramic” Pressure transmitters have a ceramic sensor for pressure measurement on clean fluids, gases and vapours. Process connections are G ½”or ½” NPT with available ranges from 0-0.2 Bar up to 0-350 Bar.
The 8000 series pressure transmitters have a small and strong flush mounted diaphragm ideal for pressure applications on sticky fluids. Available process connections include: G½”, G1″ and special pulp and paper connections (PMC, PASVE, etc). The transmitters are available in ranges from: 0-0.1 Bar to 0-100 Bar
The 8000-SAN Pressure and Level transmitters have a strong flush mounted diaphragm suitable for all kind of fluids, pastes and sludges. They are especially designed to use in the Food, Pharma and (Petro)chemical industry with more than 50 process connection options available, many are hygienic process connections. The 8000-SAN transmitters are both CIP and SIP cleanable.
The CER-8000/”Peramic” Pressure transmitters with a ceramic sensor are for Pressure measurement of clean fluids, gases and vapours. Process connections are G½” or ½” NPT with available ranges from 0-0.2 Bar to 0-350 Bar.
Klay Instruments offers a wide range of submersible Level transmitters with a cable or SS tube extension, to be used as top-mounted level transmitters in water and waste water, deep wells, underground tanks, concrete bunkers, etc. All transmitters are fully temperature compensated and most of them are internally adjustable on zero and span. The output is 4-20mA 2-wire. The SS 316L diaphragms on the Hydrobar series are very strong and laser welded resulting in a perfect Long term stability. The series HydroCER are made with a strong capacitive ceramic sensor.
Options include HART® Protocol and ATEX Ex ia Intrinsic safety. Mounting can either be by cable clamp, wall mounting bracket, Flange (DIN or ANSI) or a threaded connection: G1½” or 2″ BSP or NPT.
To complement the range of level and pressure transmitters the PT-100 Temperature sensors are available with a choice of 3 different head designs, 2 of which are fabricated in robust, corrosion resistant Stainless Steel. The sensors can be supplied with a choice of probe lengths with all wetted parts as Stainless Steel. Various head mounted transmitters can be supplied with 4-20mA, HART or Profibus Outputs.
